Why the Kindle Fire HD is the Right Tablet for You

I have looked for several months for a tablet computer.  I have wanted one since the Ipad came out.   After many months of searching and looking, I found what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier.  I choose the Kindle Fire HD!  It comes in a few 3 different versions of the kindle fire hddifferent versions.  The version I choose was the Kindle Fire HD 7″, Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, 16 GB – Includes Special Offers.  I LOVE it and I’ll tell you why and why YOU should get one too!

The Kindle Fire HD features a 1280×800 resolution screen with 720p video playback. It has a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, and has 11 hours of battery life for reading, listening to music, or playing with apps (subject to change depending on usage). The device uses Dolby Audio, dual-driver stereo speakers. The device comes with either 16GB or 32GB  of on board memory storage.

I’ll get this out of the way first thing.  There is two things that I don’t like about the Kindle Fire HD, and I only point it out first because it’s very noticable. One is the lock screen and home screen, they have advertisements plastered to them, and unless I shell out $15 there’s no way to disable them. As Amazon put it:

“With Kindle Fire HD there will be a special offers opt-out option for $15. We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out. We’re happy to offer customers the choice.”

Now this isn’t that bad.  You only see the unlock screen for just a second before you unlock it and move on to what you were intending to do and like Amazon said, for $15, you can pay and that’s gone away.  The second thing is that it only has one forward facing camara.  You can take pictures of yourself, but not of something else unless you hold the kindle fire HD around.  For most people this won’t be a problem and for the price, I’m learning to live with it.

Here are just a few of the features that the kindle fire hd has and I enjoy almost all of them.

Additional Display Support     Ambient Light Sensor     Scratch Resistant Glass

Touchscreen     DLNA     GPS Navigation     HD Playback     Microphone

Video Recording     Front Facing Camera     Autofocus     Bluetooth     WiFi

These are all great features and there are many more that aren’t listed here, and once again, for the price, this is unbeatable!

I couldn’t be happier with anything else.  Some of the things I do the most on my kindle fire hd are:  Facebook (of course), watch movies and tv shows (most included with Amazon Prime) and read books.  If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can “borrow” one book a month for FREE!  Can you believe that?  That is one AWESOME feature.  I do play games on my kindle as well and have quite a bit of fun doing it.

My purpose for getting my tablet was so that I didn’t have to get on my computer much, I was getting tired of blue screens and the “slowness” of my laptop.  Now that I have my Kindle Fire HD, I might get on my laptop once a day now. Almost everything that I did on my computer, I do on my Kindle.  I don’t really get to play facebook games much anymore on the kindle, but you can if you want too.  If you want to learn how, just post a comment and ask, I’ll be more than happy to explain it.

So go check out all the different Kindle Fire HD’s and go ahead and take the plunge and get one.  Trust me, you will be more than happy about it.  Just one word of advice.  Go ahead and get the Amazon Kindle PowerFast for Accelerated Charging (not included with device, for use with the new Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD models), it cuts down the charging time by more than half and as much as you’ll be using your Kindle Fire HD, you’ll be happy you did!
