Stay Safe While on the Job

Workplace safety is one of the most important issues that employees and employers alike must deal with. Keeping workers safe is essential for employers who want to avoid workers’ compensation lawsuits or negligence ones. It is likewise important for employees who don’t want to become injured in a manner that could render them permanently disabled. Fortunately, there are plenty of safety tools and resources on the market that have been designed to help employees stay safe while on the job.

Safety Goggles

Safety goggles are one of the most common types of safety equipment that are used in a variety of industries. It is not uncommon for people who work in warehouses around wood shavings, hazardous materials or any other type of harmful debris that can get in the eyes to be required to wear safety goggles. Almost every workplace has safety goggles on hand so that employees can utilize them whenever they need to.

Hardhats are, of course, commonly used on construction sites, warehouses and other places where employees are at the risk of something falling atop their heads. Safety hats are arguably the most important type of safety equipment since they protect the head and brain from impacts. Many dangerous workplaces require workers to wear their safety hats at all times while on the field whether they feel that they are around any hazards or not as a precautionary measure.

Certain types of industries and tasks might require safety gloves as well. For instance, any industry in which employees are going to be working with hazardous chemicals that could inflict burn or skin damage to them might require them to wear safety gloves while working with the chemicals. Even department stores and other types of retail stores usually have safety gloves on hand that employees are supposed to wear when cleaning up spills and handling any other potentially dangerous chemicals.

Safety Signs

Employers typically are required by law to have so many safety signs posted up around the workplace informing employees of proper safety procedures. Many employers also thoroughly go over safety procedures during orientation sessions to the job, and many also host periodic safety meetings to ensure that employees stay up on the latest safety techniques and are well-versed in them. Keeping employees should be a primary concern for employers. Workplace safety is one of the key elements that many employers nowadays focus on since it can help reduce the amount of lawsuits.

Daddy Cool: You Don’t Have To Ditch the Cool When Buying a Family Car

Looking for a new car is always both a troublesome and enjoyable experience. Needless to say, as time goes on, the criteria you use to choose a new car are likely to evolve. When you’re young, it might be the case that you look for something stylish and sporty. As you grow older and wiser, you might look for something more economical with practicality the priority, but that doesn’t mean you have to Ditch the Cool when buying a family car.

One of the biggest factors which helps decide between vehicles is our family.

If you’ve got kids, there are certain things which you simply cannot do without when it comes to a car – back seats, for one thing. That’s not to say that you need to compromise on everything, though.

Green is cool

There was a time when practical considerations did not go hand in hand with the elusive designator ‘cool’. Today, things are different. People all over the world are becoming increasingly aware of the impact that our everyday lives are having on the planet. The result is a greater awareness of our ecological footprint.

It’s no longer desirable to invest in an unnecessarily large car, nor is it financially smart with the growing cost of fuel. If you check out the MINI Countryman review you’ll see that it’s able to combine low fuel consumption and emissions with style and practicality.

Taking the kids away

If you’re looking for a vehicle that’s going to impress the kids, consider what it is that the vehicle is capable of. As a recent piece in the Telegraph points out, it’s simple enough to take a driving holiday in Europe. This is something which is bound to please your kids but only if the car you take is the right one.

Kids nowadays are more impressed by experiences that they are with commodities. It follows that they are sure to find a practical car far more exhilarating than a flashy sports car. Of course, it today’s car market, it is possible to find something like the MINI which is both practical and stylish in the traditional sense.

Something recognisable

There are a lot of new cars finding their way onto the market each year. Some will stand the test of time when it comes down to style but many will not. As this blog post points out, the MINI Cooper is both recognisable and iconic.

If you’re looking for something which is not only cool now but also cool in ten years’ time. Something iconic is just what you’re after and the MINI ticks this box perfectly.

Phil Robertson, His Beliefs and A&E, Their Beliefs

No matter how you slice it, Phil Robertson and A&E have had some problems as of late.  Right or wrong, gay or straight.  This comes down to whether we have the right to say how we feel and what we believe in.   Personally, I like Phil Robertson, His Beliefs and his whole family.  I have been watching Duck Dynasty for sometime now and I’m a huge fan.  There just isn’t a lot of shows that the family can sit down to and watch anymore.  This is a great show with a great message.

Here’s the latest on the story.

“Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson defended himself Sunday as “a lover … not a hater” but doubled down on the anti-gay remarks that got him suspended from his popular reality TV show.  He even suggested that Jesus Christ can save gay people.
“I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater,” Robertson, 67, told a small Bible study group at his church in West Monroe, La.  But the bearded leader of the duck-hunting Robertson clan surrendered no ground in his family’s battle against critics who disagree with his view of homosexuality, “I will not give or back off from my path,” the evangelical Christian said in his 45-minute speech, according to MailOnline.

The comments were Robertson’s first since his suspension Wednesday by the A&E Network over his homophobic ruminations in GQ magazine.  The duck-call-maker said his outlook comes from the Bible.  “Common sense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman,” Robertson said, according to MailOnline. “From the beginning Jesus said, ‘It is a man and a woman.’ Adam was made and Eve was made for this reason.”

The “Duck Dynasty” star said his goal is to enlighten his critics.  “I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago,” he reportedly said. “Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom. All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn’t know it.”

He insisted Jesus can deliver gay people from sin, MailOnline said: “Jesus will take sins away, if you’re a homosexual.”

Wearing his signature camouflage suit, Robertson blasted his detractors.  “I have a degree from Louisiana Tech. But this week I have been called an ignoramus.”  “Jesus Christ was the most perfect being to ever walk this planet and he was persecuted and nailed to the cross, so please don’t be surprised when we get a little static,” Robertson added.

The flap started when Robertson told GQ that “a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus” and compared homosexuality to bestiality.

Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne said Sunday that the state will find the Robertson family a new home on TV if it and A&E are unable to make up.

How do you feel about the situation between Phil Robertson and A&E.   What’s your stance on the subject?  Share your opinon!
