I must say Modern Warfare 2 & Borderlands are definitely two good Game of the years (for 2009 at least) for 2010.. So far GoW III..

hey ryan if you see me on send an invite and I'll play some with you. I got a level 56 hunter a level 34 soldier, a level 14 beserker and a level 9 siren so I should match up with most any character.

I know its already been said, and I don't play many games, but Borderlands is my choice.  I'm upset that MW2 came out so close to it and took me away from Borderlands.

I'd say the first 10 - 15 levels of your character is really boring, but after that it becomes a blast and I have trouble putting it down.  Now I'm too far behind the guys to compete with them and play at their level but I am working on it.  It took me a while to get into it cause I got bored of killing skag after skag after skag so mw2 was more appealing at the time.  Now I only play MW2 when I am folding laundry or its friday night gaming or whatever...

After playing Uncharted 2 I'm going to have to change my vote. Not only would I give Uncharted 2 GOTY for 2009 I would have to say it's one of the greatest of all time.

Yup, Cody said it.  I was excited for Borderlands the days leading up to it, and when I got it, I was like, "This is it?!  This is what I've been hyped to get?"  It did nothing for me and I really started to regret my purchase.  But as I built my abilities, I couldn't wait to lvl up more and more to add points to abilities to make them better, or get that next tier.  One more mission soon turned into 20 more missions and before long I was hooked.  It takes some hooking, but once you do, you get that "one more" crack rock hit itch.  On a podcast I listen to they call it "Horderlands".   :LMAO:

Borderlands

what happened to the long winded After we all know and love like ha ha

Not needed here.  Everyone has their own view and what GOTY is.  Not really a runner up for me, but ACII would be next I guess.  But I'm still playing Borderlands and waaaaayyyy after I got my 1000/1000 gs, so that is a GOTY for me.
I'm gonna have to give Boderlands a second look. For whatever reason it just didn't click with me, granted I only played it for for 3 or 4 hours but I've heard too many say how great it is so when I can find cheap I'm gonna give it another shot.

It gets better the further in you get.  You start getting cooler weapons and abilities.  I hated it at first but stuck with it and I enjoy it now although I haven't played it in awhile.

I just posted about this over on my gaming blog and was wondering what everyone has as their game of the year?  For me its Uncharted 2 followed by Batman.

I played Uncharted 2 over at my brother's house.  It is deserving of the GOTY awards it has received.  It's good enough that I have the game ordered, and as soon as the stores around here get PS3s back in stock from the holiday scourge, I'm picking one up.

Personal preference, of course, but I'd have to say Borderlands.

Halo ODST was good, but there's no excuse for a 6-hour long campaign these days (Modern Warfare 2 fails at this as well).  I not convinced a game should rely so heavily on multiplayer to give the full experience of the game.

Looking forward to 2010, though.  Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2!
