You're nice.   Laugh j/k.  I tried it once, failed, and lost 18 karma, so I bought 20 good karma just to offset it.   Even though you couldn't see it and I didn't know what it was.   Laugh

I'm not convinced the rob the bank isn't an elaborate trap to kill your karma. Tongue  After awhile I just intentionally tried to kill my karma so people would be surprised at how nice I am. Cheesy

LOL.  I guess you must've tried to rob the bank alot back when karma went away, and then they brought it back.  I remember considering it once, but didn't want to risk it b/c I was new and thought karma was kept track in secret.  Guess I was right.

Had this idea to borrow a projector from work for the Superbowl. We have an old Dell DLP projector that wasn't being used. So I asked to borrow it. Then dawn said she had a few at school that aren't being used. So I told her to bring one home so I can use the one that is best. She brings an Epson LCD projector that has much better specs than the Dell I borrowed from work.

Now that I have a projector I needed a screen. I plan to use it outside, but I have vinyl siding that is cream colored. That didn't look to good.

So I went to Lowes and picked up some 1x4s for the frame. Went to a local fabric shop and picked up some fabric. After buying the wrong fabric (spandex) that was too thin when streched, I went back and bout something thicker. Even though the 1st was too thin, I left it on the frame and just added the second frabic ontop of the other.

Trial and error only costed me about $75. So it wasn't all that bad.

Measurements are 9'long x 5' tall. Giving a diagonal of 122".

I think it turned out pretty good. The pics, are OK, but this was the 1st time I've tried taking pics in the dark of a TV, so the settings on the camera effected the outcome of the picture.

1st pic - no image
2nd pic - Kung Fu panda
3rd pic - Sydney in the pic for size refrence.
4th pic - SB 42 replay on NFLN HD, it's blurry cause the feed wasn't paused.
5th pic - another shot during the same game.

They look great Chad.

I used to borrow an office projector before I bought one myself. I would shoot the image onto a stretched out, white bedsheet. Worked like a charm.

Nothing like watching stuff on a true big screen in the living room.

Good luck convincing the wife that you need one.  Big Grin

Not just me, the kids are helping also. I am keeping this one and plan to put it in my HT when it gets built. After messing around with this. I am more than determined to get the dedicated HT/Bar built.

I am putting this outside under my patio for the SB and my 51" RPTV will be both sync' with composite HD cables running off the same settop box. To push the sound outside, I will be running my 2nd sone on my SS system.

Last night a made a make shift shelf that will hold the pj up on the patio awning so no one walks in front of it. Hopefully all my plans work right and it will be a great game for all that come over after we party in the streets for Mardi Gras.

I have two projectors. The one I have in my Home Theater I project on a screen from Carada. Great quality screens at decent prices. The second projector I have for an outdoor setup that I run in the summers. I have a blowup screen for that. Fifteen foot widescreen. It works really nice. As I have updated my stuff I kept all the old gear for the outdoor setup including a reciever, blu-ray player, and 5.1 surround sound. It sounds and looks awesome and is a hit for the neighborhood.

That looks really nice!

I had to make some last minute adjustments to the patio. I had some visqueen(sp?) to black out the patio for the beginning of the game. Everyone loved watching the game on the big screen. Now the wife is really ready to get the HT built and setup.

Smile Your done now man. Your headed down the path. Once you get the big screen itch it is tough to go back.

The thing that I like the most is that most people have the misconception that projectors can not look nice. They remember the ones from high school 25 years ago. The typical reaction when people walk into my basement is "Holy
sh!t that is awesome." When you get it dialed in right it really looks like a 100" plasma hanginging on the wall. Projectors are also ridiculously inexpensive compared to 5-6 years ago.

My wife was also very skeptical when I did the projector. She never say's anything beyond "That's nice honey". When we watched our first movie she was like "Wow. That is amazing" She loves it.
