Topic: Gears of war double EXP

Epic took more than 20 suggestions for experience bonuses in a Valentine's event and Cliff Bleszinski and Rod Fergusson chose three. Epic's Valentine's Day "date" with Gears of War 2 will run between Feb. 8 and Feb. 14.

For at least three days in that span (and maybe the whole week; they haven't decided yet), Gears of War 2 will offer the following XP bonuses:

• Revives are double points in all game types
• Wingman is double normal XP (4x XP)
• Horde is double XP

I'd advise checking back at the Epic forum thread for final details on when it starts and ends, but it sounds like it'll be quite the romantic experience.

ITS BACK. just checked out gearsofwar.com and this weekend (halloween) friday-monday double exp. Theres a lil something extra they decided 2 throw at us as well waves 10,20,30 ect. all boomers so have fun and send me a fr or game invite I'll b on as much as the lady and kids will let me.Have Fun!!!

That's pretty cool, but when you need like 250,000 just for one f'n lvl like me, it's just not worth the grind, but I'll jump in w/ anyone doing it just to at least start up some stories and laughs since we shouldn't have to take the game too seriously.

There is a 'cheap' way to level up, and if anyone wants to we can spend an hour (or more) doing so periodically. It makes sense to do it on double XP weekends, but anytime would work.

We setup a horde match on hard (no need to do insane), and pick Security map. We kill the 5-6 enemies of wave 1 and we get credit for 250 exp (500 for double exp weekends). Once wave 2 starts, we all jump into the security lasers and kill ourselves, and then restart wave 1. Whole process takes less than 1 minute. If you wnat to do wave 2-3 we can but it takes longer. With 4-5 people in less than 30 seconds you can finish wave 1, and in 15 seconds restart. Thus 15000 points an hour (30 000 for double xp weekends).
