I'm torn with these maps, now.

I liked the video and the maps look like a lot of fun.

I just still don't like that $15.  Looking more and more like I'm going to pay, though.

I normally get suckered into map packs, but this is one pack I'm not doing.  $15 for three new maps, and two re-hashes?  No thanks.  On top of that, I've got this game on two systems.  For $15, there are games like Tomb Raider and Limbo coming out on XBLA that are going to be well worth the money.

I'm hoping that this XBLA game Blacklight turns out to be pretty decent.  If it is, that will justify my complete dismissal of any updated map packs to MW2.  Funny thing is I always buy stupid map packs, even if I don't play them.  I have all the Halo 3 maps, and all the Gears 2 maps, and I hardly ever play either of those games.

I still say they should have made this pack an all NEW map pack and than release a pack with some re-made maps.. But patiently waiting now... Getting tired of these old maps already.

No, I don't think losing rank is good.  Only if it is strictly truskill rank like GOW2 did, but ppl even complained about that.  The system now is fine, but it's just you should get credit for it in private matches.  Ppl will boost achievements and rank no matter what you do.  Just make a game fun.  If I was a developer, I would want a high percentage of gamers to 100% the achievements.  I could tell shareholders that not only did we sell X copies, but 70% or more of those finished the game 100%.  That shows their interest and commitment.  You should be able to get 100% of achievements in a game though if you play that game for a month.  And that's a good time for a game.  Unless you are releasing some blockbuster game, but then the achievements don't matter.  Look how many ppl 100% COD4 and still played it?  Plus no achievements were online.  Letting ppl play the game they way they want to play it and w/ friends, and it's a win-win for everyone.

I think the modern battlfield that came out in 06 has the best ranking system you had to keep your PH ratio up are you could lose rank was pretty cool if you ask me.

the whole ranking system is flawed as soon as people figure out how to cheat their way to the top. The day somebody makes an online shooter with a legit ranking system is the day I get my first video game based tattoo.

Thank god there is no xp in private matches. Everyone would be a 10th prestige level 70. There would be ni point to online ranking.
It's not like it takes skill to be a 10th prestige, just time.

For most of the people that are 10th prestige now, it didn't even take that.

No experience in private matches.  That all comes down to progamming, not the producer.

Look, COD4 is fun and I picked up the map packs for it when they went on sale and never played them.  But it is still activision.  I can get behind a COD4 just to change it up and go back to play a fun game.  But I can get behind more of playing BFBC2.  Stick it to Activision all together.  And we can form a private match in BFBC2, just have to have 8 ppl to start it, AND YOU GET EXPERIENCE POINTS FOR IT!!  Yeah, that one is IW's fault.

what one is IWs fault?

i wish that publishers just stop being out for the money and just make art for art. see the difference in music is....well the mainstream acts have to be molded to what the label(publisher) wants... and the underground bands are more free....but with games. there is no indie labels to get under. there should be though. somebody needs to create the first next gen independent gaming publishers.

i just want to play and not have deal with the red tape.

**cking a

on friday. its cod4?
