Yeah man, weight is probably one of the worst things you could use to rate how you're doing when it comes to exercise.  It'll depend on what you're focusing on (weights vs. cardio or some combination of both), how much water you drank, whether or not you took your morning dump...a lot can throw that off.

Cardio and diet lifestyle changes are the keys to weight loss. But I would venture to say that if you cut down on portions and eliminated the late night snacks (I know. Easier said than done. This is my downfall too.) you'll really start to see the lbs come off.

If you're willing to do the work (and it sounds like you are) it can be done. Just have patience young Jedi.

Weight Loss??
« Reply #1 on: March 29, 2010, 03:50:32 PM »
Ok, I finally decided to get off my duff and get in shape.  A local gym offered a great deal, and I joined up in late December.

I took measurements when I started, and I took some measurements about two weeks ago.  I've gained about 1 1/2" on my chest and I've lost 2" inches off of my waist but my weight has stay the same.  Has anyone else done that??  I understand that muscle is heavier, but is my body just hiding it better??

Maybe I'm being too impatient??  Am I getting to hung up on the weight thing??  I do feel better and I am starting to see more definition in my arms, legs and back.  My diet has been better, but I know it still can improve.  My biggest problems were (and still are) portion size and the late night snacking.

Any ideas??
