Calling all Xterra Owners
« on: December 11, 2007, 03:06:07 PM »
Do any of you have Xterras? How do you like them? I saw in consumer reports they are the #3 top SUV in its class, and I really want to get one. They seem to have decent gas mileage (but if you buy an SUV you shouldnt care anyway) and how is it in offroad etc? Ive seen LOTS of accessories for the X as well if you have a picture post it!

thanks

Doesn't look like anyone here has an Xterra..  I have an Explorer.   :)

Sorry I didn't see this yesterday T3, but we have an '03 Xterra that we bought new.  It has been great for us.  We bought the electronic package which includes the 6 disc stereo w/ Bose speakers.  Four wheel drive, and I've never had any malfunctions.  I had the passenger window motor stop working and they replaced it immediately, no problems.  The luggage rack on the top is easy to remove to clean under (which I usually only do once a year.  LOL), and we have the trailer hitch as well, although I've only used it twice and everything functioned.  My wife loves sitting up high, we are a four person family, and a dual monitor DVD player easily straped onto the back seats, plus the back is a little raised, so our kids could look out at a very young age.  We vacationed to FL, and I was able to put all of our luggage on the top and put the seats down, so the kids were VERY good just laying in the back, watching tv, w/ pillows and blankets.  Heck, I wanted to climb back there w/ them.  We have the V6 and get around 16 miles to the gallon on every day use.  We don't live in the open country, but not in a city w/ red lights and stops at every block.  We paid $26,000 for ours w/ 0.1% interest.  We love it, and for the price, and I think it is the best deal for an SUV, and we researched a lot, from Saturn, Honda, Ford, and Chevy, but the Nissan won for affordability and having the options we wanted.

thanks, yeah they are having some special at the chevrolet dealer today so we are going to see if we might be able to use our cavalier as a trade-in for a next to new xterra if they have one on the lot.
