Has anyone played this game and if so do you know how to make it where each person gets to use their own Wiimote.

We have it and I took a test on it one day. I didn't like that you only use one wiimote. Also I don't like that I can't use my Mii.
BTW, I don't think you can change it.

We had it for a while.  You can make it so each player uses their own WiiMote. I think it's right after you select the number of players.  If I remember right there is a "wooden" sign that shows a controller, and if you click on that you can choose multiple controllers.  It's not very intuitive, but it is there.

Guess I was wrong, I'm gonna have to check that out.

You can do a combo of one person per wimote or a few people with one wimote.
