Title: What is a Push Gift
Post by: RickyInfantino on September 28, 2012, 12:12:00 PM
I was wondering if anyone knew what a push gift was? My sister is pregnant and my brother in law asked me if he was supposed to get her one. I wasn't sure so I thought I'd do some research. Let me know your thoughts :) Thanks!

I'll have to direct you to Google for that one.  I've never heard of such a thing.   :signquestion:

Unfortunately, I DO know what a "push gift " is!!!!

It seems as if it is supposed to be a post-partum "Thank you for pushing out my child" gift!  While I am appreciative of my wife's MUCH larger part in bringing my son into this world, I am not a big fan of these types of things...  With that said, my wife did get a much larger birthday gift (as her birthday was 8 days after my son was born) than I was planning or thinking.

With all of that said, the idea is to buy HER something NOT a baby centered gift...  The gift to my wife was a Kate Spade purse which she has apparently always wanted for herself.

SO if mom gets a push gift, does dad get a carry gift?  Because for the next five years at least your gonna be carrying that kid when he/she is tired. I think mine lasted til he was eight before I told him I couldn't carry him anymore and ten before I really couldn't. ~o)

After ten if he was passed out in the car when we got home late after a long day and night his little butt got woke up and he was zombie walked into his bed.
