Alright, there's this "ace of cakes" competition in my area with proceeds going to charity, one cake per table. A couple of pastry chefs that i work with signed up and requested my assistance in sculpting the rat from Ratatouille along with some vegetables, here's a few pics i took with me phone, i will post pic's of the finished cake with the results of the competition. Missing from these photo's is a small copper pot that Remy will be sitting on top of stirring with a wooden spoon ( shown ). I also made a second Remy just in case the first one broke in transport or set up, i think that one looks way better that the first one, hopefully i'll get pics of that one too, if the first Remy doesn't break we plan on placing the back up Remy on/next to somebody elses cake to stir attention back to our cake.

when assembled the cake base will be a cutting board with veggies and a huge wedge of cheese topped with a chefs toque and a copper pot full of soup being stirred by Remy. These are just some shots of the progress, not much of this is actually finished.

we took first place out of 50 freaking pro's!!! i'm not really much of a pastry chef and this was this first time i've sculpted fondant so i'm pretty stoked about this win. BTW, this cake is 100% edible, not that that crap they make on cake boss or ace of cakes, imo you can't just throw a twinkie at a car and call it a car cake.

Chef! That is un-f'ing-real!

It's obvious a lot of love went into it. Nice work.

And congrats!
