@ 275 and 5'11", I would be a rock if I were able to get to 200. Though I have no delusions of doing that in 1 year (I enjoy certain things way to much to work that hard). I'd like to get to whatever weight I am if I have a 38" waist, and then maintain that. Maybe at the end of 2010, hitting a 36" waist would be good goal.

Oh yeah. I could be happy with a 36-38" waist. And I forgot to add my height. I'm 6' even.

I'm 6'2" 210 and i feel i'm skinny as a rail, I could imagine how drugged out I'd look at 175. If I turned sideways I'd disappear. If I lifted weights like I used to then I'd probably gain 15 more pounds then I guess I'd be obese. wish i still had my mountain bike skills.

I can relate! My supposed ideal weight maximum is 200 pounds! Yeah right! When I got out of basic I was a mean lean 225 with hardly an ounce of fat on me. 200 pounds! I think not.
I set my ultimate goal at 225. It will be a LONG TIME before I reach that losing at a healthy pace of two to three pounds a week. I'm a big dude! I'm 6' 3", 371 pounds. I don't look that heavy, because I carry it well. Doing the math that is a minimum of 73 weeks. I'm looking at a year and a half haul, but it's not that huge if you look at it as a day at a time and as a lifestyle change rather than a "DIET". My real ultimate goal is to make the lasting lifestyle changes necessary to be at and maintain that healthy weight.

good luck John, with determination you will be able to get to where you want to be. My goals are to get back in shape, i have not done much in the past 4 month after foot surgery, and am out of shape now. And being in the Army, we can not have that.

Well I am 5' 11" 261lbs. When I started gaining weight I sd I was going to get into shape, and the shape I chose was a circle, so goal accomplished..... But seriously I want to get down to 190 - 200. I am gonna start walking or bike riding tomorrow. I want to wish everyone the best of luck.

Yes there will be a new Check In Thread every Friday. If you are the first for The Friday go ahead and start a new thread and I will sticky it when I go to post mine. Just title the thread "Friday Get Fit Check In - [date]". I will do my best to be the first to post the thread this next Friday, so everyone can see how it looks.

I think I'll try this. I'm about 5'4" and weigh 182 last I checked. I'm a size 36 and it's getting tight. I hate it. I lead a very unhealthy lifestyle. I usually skip breakfast, eat a small to light lunch, then snack when I get home, eat 2 servings of dinner and then a snack before bed.
I've cut out a lot of the soda I drink, though I could still stand to drink more water and milk and less soda. I have an underused Wii Fit and I think I might change that and start using it more, at least until the winter is over and I can go walk more.
