Sigg water bottle recall
« on: September 15, 2009, 05:03:52 PM »
Sigg has issued a voluntary recall of older bottles that have recently been found to contain a BPA liner.  These bottles were sold as BPA-free but in reality contained a liner that Sigg claims doesn't leech BPA.  But if like me, you bought the bottles under the assumption that they were BPA-free, then this is a problem.

Sigg will take back these bottles and exchange them for newer models that are now truly BPA-free.

you know this really pisses me off, myself like many thousands of other people bought these bottles because sig promoted them as not having any BPA, and although they never said these bottles dont have BPA there advertisments slammed the companies that bottle water due to the BPA issue. basically making people think there bottles have no BPA when in fact they did only to now find out it's been leaching into the water all along.

on top of that the voluntary recall means that you have to pay for shipping to get new bottles

bad move sigg
Ill be buying SS bottles from their competitor from now on :gaah:
