I had no noticeable signs of the problem.   I've heard that is common.

Honestly, if you're having those problems in tandem, don't wait the week before making a doc appt.

Heck, I have been having these problems for months.   Starting tomorrow, I have to work 7 days straight, so I'm gonna have to wait until after that anyway.

But I am gonna go.

Do you feel better now that your blood pressure is lower?

I don't feel any different, but at least I now know my BP isn't destroying my internal organs.

Dude, call today and make an appointment for when you have time off, at least you'll know you've got a spot reserved.

That's true.   I could do that.

Ok.   So I do have high blood pressure.    Today at the doctors office my BP was 154/100.   That's about average from what I have been getting the last 2 weeks of me taking it.

He prescribed Benazepril to me.    10MG a day to see if it helps.  We will see if it does.  Wish me luck.

Sure, one-up me why don't you?!   That's the same med I'm taking, but I'm on 5mg per day.    It's done great for me.  It's been about 6 weeks and today my pressure was 120/72

Remember not to take the meds with either citrus or apple juice.  Juices have been shown to reduce the effectiveness of medication when used as a chaser.

Update on me.

Well, the 1 10mg Benzapryl didn't work for me.   The doctor told me to take 2 a day now.  Didn't tell me not to take them at the same time, which I did the first day.  *Don't do that!*  LOL

Anyway, I'm taking one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  I have been doing that for about 5 days now.  My blood pressure is still in the 130-140/80-90 range.

Any suggestions?

I was under the impression that 5 days wasn't nearly long enough to effect a change in your system.

I was on the 1 pill for alittle over 2 weeks, Fro.  No real change in my BP.   Started the 2 pills about 5 days ago and I'm noticing that my blood pressure is starting to change....maybe.     Just took my 2nd pill for the day and checked my BP before I took the pill.   It was 128/90.

Also, I'm taking Chantix right now too.  Don't know if it messes with my BP medicine or not.  I don't think it does.

Take a page out of Tony's book and start some running.  or at least walking.  Exercise can really help release some tension
