Tylenol Liquid Recall
« on: September 24, 2009, 06:51:10 PM »
http://www.tylenol.com/page.jhtml?id=tylenol/news/subpchildinfantnews.inc

Website says it applies only to Children's and Infant's liquid tylenols.

The website is confusing, and makes it sound like the drug is safe if it made it to the retail level.  Sure enough, my retail-purchased supply is fine.

However-after his first set of vaccines, my son was given some tylenol infant drops by our pediatrician's office.  It was a fresh bottle (I watched the nurse open it), and we were given the remainder to bring home with us.  This bottle has a lot number that DOES match one of the recalled batches.  So, perhaps some of the bad batches were distributed in bulk to physicians.  Check the website link above for lot numbers and stuff to compare to your stash.

Thanks man,  I always appreciate information like this.  I don't feel that it is publicized enough neither.

Thanks man.

The wife sent me the link from work earlier as well.  Checked our bottles and we are good to go.

Good post though.  Always nice to see important information like that.

That's awesome that a huge company like sam's would call you!  I called the pediatrician's office to let them know (and ask a few questions, since my son HAS HAD two doses from that bottle).  When I told them, it seemed like a shock-and it was the first they'd heard of it!  (Though in their defense, I think it was either an answering service I was talking to, or a receptionist or something...wasn't a nurse or the Dr.)

My wife said it was an automated call from Sams Club,  I figure they tracked the people that bought Children's or Infants Tylenol through the card and used the automated system to send out messages through the card holders information.  Never the less it was still very thoughtful of them to do so.

Yeah, it's usually a receptionist that takes the initial call.  You have to ask to speak with the RN, to speak with.
Thanks,

Couldn't have been any better timing on this post man!

Little girl woke up this morning 102.5 temperature,  we knew what NOT bottles to use.

My wife did call the 1-800 # today, LOL, or at least tried - not sure if she got through to them yet or not, they said they were experiencing a high volume of calls.
Thanks,
James Reardon

Sorry to hear your little one's not feeling well, but glad you were informed of the recall!

I tried calling the 800 number last night too-multiple times.  Couldn't get through...busy signal every time I called.  I'm sure they're inundated.
