Our new family member
« on: October 19, 2010, 10:27:51 AM »
Hey all,

I figured I would mention our new addition to the family instead of my regular venting because we gotta share our ups and not only our downs right?  Milo is our 4 month old golden retriever.  My son loves him and although I have never owned a dog before my wife and sis in law are very familiar with dogs.  I welcome any advice you guys have to share.

Congrats on the new dog.  Not a dog owner myself, but would like to see a picture of the puppy.

Congrats!  Labs have lots of energy so make sure you take him outside and let him play.  Also make sure he knows who's boss.  Otherwise he will rule the house

cute dog.  Fight the urge to let him sleep on your bed as he gets older.  Otherwise you will have no room.

I don't know about that, Buddy (the 100+ lb chocolate lab) is very kind and shares his twin size bed well with Jeremy (the 5'3" 11 yo). ~o)

i could not imagine having a 100+ pound dog share a bed with us.  My 50+ dog is big enough.  However there is plenty of room in Quinn's twin bed.  We are looking at getting another dog in Feb.  Maybe a lab    :rollinglaugh:

The best advice I can give is treat the puppy as if he's one of your kids, and start training as soon as possible.

People who think they know it all really annoy those of us that do.
