Abdomen Pain
« on: November 02, 2010, 03:54:44 PM »
Hey guys - headed to the doc this afternoon.  Been having pain in the right side of my abdomen since Friday evening.  Since it's not going away, figured I should probably get it checked.  I've got appendicitis sitting in the back of my head, but I'm not having any symptoms beyond the pain.

Seem to be fine if I don't move much.  Breathing deep sends a jolt of pain that makes me want to kick a puppy, though.

Good luck.   My money's on a hernia, but I hope it's not that.

That sucks man, pain in the abdomen could be so many different things the majority aren't real serious but can be quite painful.

Looks like it's my gallbladder.  I go in for an ultrasound on Friday morning to find out for sure.

Do they think it's a gall stone?   I have heard they are just as bad as a kidney stone and if that's the case, I have had 15.  LOL

Hope all goes well with it.    They give you pain medicine?

Damn Keet sorry to hear that.  My wife had gall bladder issues and eventually had it removed.  If you need to know anything I can ask her for you

They don't think it's a stone.  My pain level hasn't steadily grown and kept going.  It went up to a point and it's staying there.  They do think it's blocked, but they said they'll know for sure after the ultra sound.

Either way, I'm expecting to have to get it taken out.  Not looking forward to that.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it.  Can you take anything for the pain in the meantime?

Unfortunately, no.  It's sort of my barometer for if I need to go to the ER.  Gets bad enough, off I go.

I'm alright as long as I'm not moving around too much.  Thankfully I've got a couple new xbox games to keep me occupied.

Ouch! Sorry to hear your in such pain Keet. Hope it passes soon. I have a friend who has had several gallbladder stones. He has had surgery for them and he has also had them broken up small enough to pass with ultra sound.

Sorry to hear that you have to wait.  Hopefully, they will find out exactly what it is and fix the problem as soon as possible.
