ok so apparently the Kindle website has daily or weekly free books all you have to do is sign up for an account and they have random free ebooks of all different genres. Just thought it might be worth looking into for iphone,Ipod, and of course Kindle users.

thanks for the tip.  I just got my Kindle this week and am loving it.  Now to look at what books are free.  One thing to beware of, read the reviews on the books.  Some of the "Collections" that they offer for free have been known to be synopsis of the books contained in it.

good point Keith, also be wary make sure that the book you download isn't part of a series or if it is make sure its the first one. I downloaded one book that was book 5 in a series of 8 and started reading it and had no idea what was going on. once I figured out I was mid series I "Arred!" the first 4 books to get me up to speed.

Here's the link:  http://www.amazon.com/s/?node=2279458011

There's also Project Gutenberg that has out of Copyright books available for download.  Of course they're older, but free is free.

Couple others I'll try to get the links for

Almost forgot to come back and add the other links I have/found.

B&N has a comparable "free" section, though I have to assume it's formatted for the Nook (there are free converters available)

Many of the "free ebooks" sites will have the same content since they largely distribute out of copyright material.  Manybooks is similar to Project Gutenberg.

Computers/Tech:

PDF Search Engine:
http://www.pdfgeni.com/

And finally - Scribd - The only way I can think to describe this site is like YouTube for ebooks.  Users upload and share books, presentations, etc.
