We could also use a section after all of the recipes on ways to include children in the cooking. Just simple things that we tend to overlook when we're stressed from the kid running close to what we are doing that is safe for them, as well as allows us to finish making our meals. That would probably be the last thing added.

Maybe some tight budget meals that are filling, tasty, and healthy. This would be helpful for people just not having much to spend during those rough patches with finances. I'm still thinking myself through some other thoughts, but they'll be finished soon enough.

So, the idea being we keep this dad-centric, I'm guessing.  Dad cooks for mom, dad cooks for kids, dad cooks with kids

So we've got:

One Pot Wonders
After School Snacks
Cooking with Kids - separate section entirely or add a section to every single recipe titled something like, "Kids can help!"
Cooking on a budget - separate section entirely or add a section to every single recipe that talks about cheaper substitutions or ingredients that can be left out (with a disclaimer of some kind somewhere that explains it won't be the same, obviously).

Also possible:
Simple, healthy lunches
Cooking for Classes/Teams
Date Night
BBQ Glory
Vegetarian?

I think you may be on to something here, Andre.  A bit of poking around and I'm not seeing a pile of cookbooks directed at fathers.

I can't believe I didn't even think about vegetarian dishes, and to think that 5 years of my life were spent as a veg head. Oh well, but yeah Keet, you're thinking in the right direction there.

There would probably have to be a separate section for budget meals, but including kids could be added in a small side section for each individual recipes, as well as alternatives that can be used in the meals, though saying they won't taste exactly the same.

And you're right about the lack of Daddy Cooking material. So maybe this would do better than we'd expect, but we still need to get everything together, and this bit of brainstorming is helping.

The lunch part is a good one also.  There should also be something about peanut free.  whether the recipe is marked as peanut free or a whole section of it

Probably better to just mark them as Peanut-Free for the first attempt. But in the glossary section, we could list them and show what pages they're on.

[EDIT]: I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but maybe a section of meals for those who are, shall we say "cooking inept". It would probably also be a good idea to put in a mini cooking dictionary. What do you think Chef?

A glossary would be a good idea. I'm worried about doing too many nitch chapters that would bode their own books like allergies, halal, kosher and vegetarian though. I could do variations on some recipes but most of the time if I'm making food with guidelines, I'll make them the way they were intended and not as a variation of something different. Who knows, maybe there is a big draw for vegetarian foods. After we come up with x amount of chapters, I say we put up a poll and vote them in to the book, x amount of votes to get in.

I think we should have the bacon chapter right after the veggy chapter.
