Heat Wave '11
« on: July 28, 2011, 06:36:46 PM »
I know it's probably hot where you all live, but man I just wanted to gripe about it some.

I was just outside trying to mow the yard and it's just too darn hot out there.   I came inside to see how hot it was and the thermometer (located in shade) said it was 100.4 degrees.   I know that might not sound too bad to some of you, but add 70% humidity to that and it wears me out.

Ok, I'm done ranting now.   :)

we have had 19 straight days of over 100º and over 30 for the summer.  But i still can not com pain, as last year i was sucking it up with a whole summer of 130º and above.  Hopefully this drought that we are in will end soon, according to the stats, we have been in one since October.

Fro and Keet, those temps are very tempting.   I wish I could move either place, but then I would have to put up with the bad winters.  LOL   I don't like cold either.   :)

We live in a great place, we don't have much severe weather at all, but when we get hot, we get humid and both of those together just suck!

I had an Anchorage layover a week or so ago.  Man, what a wonderful respite from the oppressive heat we have down here in Houston.  I walked around outside so much that I chafed my legs!

Depending on how things shake out with the merger, we might move out in your direction.  This heat is killing us.  I can't do a damn thing outside...I just want to go from one air conditioned place to another.

I hope things work out in your favor, but if they don't, I'll leave the light on for you.

Depending on the length of your layover, shoot me a PM.  I'll come have a beer with you.

Or, you could come watch me drink a beer while you drink cranberry juice.   8-|

I feel you on this heat sitch. I had to work all this month in a non a/c kitchen. I convinced them to shut the windows and turn the hood vents on to suck the a/c from another part of the building. It was about 89 after that, but the humidity was pretty low.
