Hundred Push Ups

So my BIL told me about a website/app that he is going to use to get in shape just by doing push ups. The site is
http://hundredpushups.com
. You start by doing a test to see where you stand, then you follow a weekly program and, supposedly, within 7 weeks you will be doing 100 push ups. I figure if alternate this program with the "Prep for a 5K" program that I'm already working on (and mix in a healthy amount of sit ups), I'll be ready in no time. Speaking of sit-ups....Do you guys think that this hundred push-ups program would be interchangeable with sit-ups?

Sounds like a solid plan Jessie, as far as the sit-ups though I would make it more like 150. after all when you look at the score charts, you need to do more sit-ups to get a higher score then you need to do on pushups

There is another site just like it for situps. I've found this site also that seems to be pretty good for the abs:
http://randomabs.com/
It sends you daily emails for the new ab workout of the day

That's really cool Randy. I think I'm going to give random abs a shot! The main appeal to me is that it will keep you from getting burned out on the same old exercises while still getting a great total ab workout.

Going to give the pushup site a shot. Hopefully the arthritis doesn't cause me problems. Hoping to move on to the sit-ups after that.

Thanks for the ab site Randy, I am going to give it a try also
MODIFIED
I have actually just downloaded a few of the apps from Hundred Pushups (the 100 pushup, 20 chin-up, and 200 Squats apps), and plan to add them to my running regimen. I also signed up for the Ab emails that Randy talked about. Lets see if this can all get e back into peak shape for the PT test and also for my running plans.

I did the first day of hundred push ups today and on the last set (20 Minimum), I knocked out 6! LOL.
Also incorporated the Random Ab. routine of the day. Who knew planking was so hard!?

I'm going to be in bad shape if the ARMY incorporates pull ups! I know for a fact, sadly, that I can not do ONE correct pull up! LOL. I know this because I one up'd by BIL by lifting 150 lbs on bench press to his 95 lbs (he's 13) but then he did about 10 pull ups in front of me and I didn't quite get my chin past the bar!

I stopped at 50 for no more than 2 seconds. It was more to readjust my position than anything else.
Now I can let myself go again!
But honestly, this is an amazing program. At my initial test, I was only able to do about 15. Nevermind the end test, my last program day, had me doing about 275 across 9 sets. I would never thought that this was possible for me.
