Bobby Miller (R) South Carolina
« on: December 09, 2011, 12:16:52 PM »
So up until about 10 minutes ago I had Bobby Miller from South Carolina on my facebook friends list.  He's deleted me...

It started with a post he made
Saying simply
"Barry Obama is a lying muslim dog that.." essentially needs to be removed.

I responded to this with
"Really, are we still kicking the Muslim dead horse?  State actual reasons why you believe he should be removed.  Anyone can offer criticism, the people offering solutions are rare."
He deleted this comment after more of the people on his friends list had liked it rather than his post...  So we had a bit of a chat with the facebook messenger that went like this.

At which point he removed me as his friend.

Way to go Bill! You said it perfectly and has a hell of a lot more validity than his argument.

The views he shows are bigoted and give the GOP a black eye. I know based on what he has said I would not vote for him, even if his stances on many things were the same as mine. He is fundamentally wrong and goes against all that I hold near and dear to this country, and what I fought for and defended. Not all of the GOP is like this, but unfortunately there are more than should be. This is nothing new for politics though. I don't care which party you talk about, there is less and less actual answering and solving of issues and more and more, mud-slinging and attacking. There has also been a propensity of intolerance of other beliefs and ideas, with no compromise or willingness to work together for the good of all.

I am not a fan of Obama, in fact you might say I despise the job he has done, but that is just it I despise his job, not him. I don't believe he should have been elected in the first place, but he was and now all I can do as a citizen is stay informed, help and hope others do the same, and vote him out of office. I also do not believe he should have been elected in the fist place due to inexperience, a liberal socialistic track record, and the asinine promises he made with no facts or visible plans to back him up. Not because he is or is believed to be Muslim.

I think it should be the job of our representatives to represent the interests of all.  While I understand that in that interest, decisions will be made that *should* in the best interest of the greater sections.  IE you can't please everyone every time.

I think that too long we have embraced the political climate of mudslinging to base decisions on.  I think it should be on us, the average voter, no matter country or heritage, to demand, intelligent debate and real information.  That train has to start somewhere and I will hold myself to that standard.

Bill - Outstanding response and terrifying that people like this, Perry and Bachman are in politics.  It's not the religion I have an issue with, it's the bigotry and racism within that religion.

I still think anyone who wants to be president (or in the house or senate) shouldn't be able to get the job.  Those who push for the highest positions of authority are out for themselves (in the majority, I know there are those that work hard and get into politics to try to right the wrongs).

Way to go Bill!  You do a much better job of not getting mad when you debate.  Lots of people, and myself, get mad when people don't see our side of the story.

you handled that extremely well, better than I would do.   I can't stand ignorant people that only want to tell you the truth from their eyes without listening to someone else's side of the story.
