Anyone have experience dual booting?
« on: February 16, 2012, 04:35:20 AM »
I'm currently running a Win7/ Ubuntu setup on my comp but want to try tri booting osx also. I found a few ways to do it but wanted to know if anyone here has done it before that could point me in the best (read easiest) way.

If anyone around here has done it, it would probably be Frobozz.    Let's see what he says.

I only dual-boot (WinXP and Ubuntu), I haven't tried tri-booting. Here's a youtube video I found that might help you.

PC tri-boot using Ubuntu, OS x 86, and XP

I seem I have botched up my operation. Now all I get is "error unknown filesystem grub rescue". I think I can recover from it if I can find/make a win7 live cd

I saw that thread last night. I can't boot live in Ubuntu and the installer crashed 3x. I'm going to give this a go later on today http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/fix-mbr-xp-vista/

Although it says xp/vista it should work about the same.

I can help out on this.. as we did quad boot in a class I took while getting my network admin degree.
As usual I'm busy as hell and never seem to be able to make it to daddyplace as often as i like but if all goes well I should be notified on my android for this thread and will check it to see if i can help with any issues.  That may be needed.

This is the order we installed the OS's.

XP (since it was the schools primary OS)
Ubuntu
Win7
OSX
