« on: February 21, 2012, 09:32:19 PM »
OK men here is the registration info for this year.  Mark the date on your calendar the spots go FAST.  Less than 24 hours last year.  Lets get enough for a team!

Registration

Priority registration presented by Navy Federal Credit Union will open May 1. To be eligible for priority registration you must have either run the ATM seven (7) or more times OR are a U.S. service member. Military MUST use a .mil email address when registering. We understand that DoD civilians also have a .mil email address but early registration is open to U.S. service members only. We trust that everyone will honor this and abide by the ATM policy.

General registration will open May 15. There will be 20,000 registrations available on a first come, first serve basis.
Costs

Entry Fee: $55

i will be there this year, but as i was explaining to Randy, i will have to run with my unit team as the Army is paying for me to fly from TX to DC (all expenses paid for).  i may try to see if there is a way to have my time figured in to two teams, but i am unsure if it is possible.  Worst case, my brother will be coming down and could race as part of the team for another spot.  Minimum number needed for a team is 4.  I am looking forward to catching up with everyone either before or after and having a few beers.

I would LOVE to do this, this year, but I'm not sure it's the right time for me or my family. For me, I don't feel that I've trained long enough or progressed enough in my training for something of this magnitude. For my family, it wouldn't really be fair because I didn't set the funds aside from tax returns or any other "bonus" money. Maybe, if I don't deploy, next year?

no problem Jessie.  We try to get somewhat of a team together every year. Although usually Randy is about the only one who goes

I was able to get in for priority.  When randy says sells out early, he is not joking, when I started looking at priority, after 4 hours they had sold over 2000 registrations.  And that was only for a small population.  It opens at 12 am in the 15th.  Hope to see you guys in DC this year.

Awesome that works, once a finalize my team, I will be working my logistics out.  Days are not locked in, doing a trial run next week to narrow the 12 applicants down to 7 plus me
