One of the biggest game franchises in history gets a sequel.

New releases for the week of May 31st.

The Sims 3

The Sims return yet again in this third full evolution of the long-running and always-expanding sim series.

The Sims 3 allows you to immerse your unique Sims in an open living neighborhood right outside their door, interacting with other Sims using the new, deeper personality system. The game also allows you to customize anything, anywhere. From floors to flowers, fashions to sofas, wallpaper to window shades and more, The Sims 3 gives you all the flexibility and options you need to be the architect of your dream house or explore your interior design skills to outfit your ultimate home. Your Sims can make home an ultra-deluxe mansion, a cool bachelor pad, family's dream home or charming cottage. The choice is yours.  (June 2nd)

Delta Force Xtreme 2

The world's most deadly fighting force is back in all-new single-player, co-op and multiplayer combat in Delta Force: Xtreme 2 (DFX2), from action game developer and publisher NovaLogic. Supported by the NovaWorld Community, a multiplayer network that provides smoother, faster and seamless gameplay for up to 150 players per game, DFX2 offers intense military action for PC FPS fans.

Featuring over 40 content-rich multiplayer maps, DFX2 supports five of the most popular game types: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Team King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, and Flagball. Each detailed map will have something to entice all FPS fans, from large, vehicle heavy battlefields to small, concentrated engagement zones. The NovaWorld Community allows every element of the DFX2 gameplay, from the enhanced ballistics to the innovative in-vehicle spawn system, to be carefully coordinated to support a fully-balanced experience where teamwork is deadlier than individual firepower, and in DFX2, intelligence and creativity is rewarded as much as fast-twitch reflexes  (June 2nd)

Fuel

Fuel will present players with an astonishing no-boundaries playfield that's over 5,000 square miles (14,000+ km²) in size. Creating the ultimate competitive go-anywhere racing experience, the game has players competing across wildly different terrain and executing spectacular death-defying stunts as they race dozens of varied two and four-wheeled rides and explore this epic world on an unprecedented scale.

Fuel is set in an alternate present in which whole swathes of the globe have been ravaged by the effects of climate change brought on by decades of environmental abuse. Here oil prices have rocketed and yet a new breed of racing junkie takes to the wastelands, pitting their grungy home-tuned vehicles against each other in an all-new extreme sport as they compete to win fuel supplies. To triumph means travelling the wastelands to challenge the best; from the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more.  (June 2nd)

Light of Altair

Light of Altair is a sci-fi colony building game. Grow colonies from landing pod to metropolis, while sending off new spaceships to expand your territory to other worlds. You are not alone in space; 8 factions from different parts of the world are all following their own agendas in the solar system, so diplomacy and orbital-combat are essential to learn.

Light of Altair is based on a custom built 3D engine that enables easy zooming from galaxies all the way down to individual moons and asteroids covered in the colonies with their glass domes, mines and launch pads. Advanced shader technology is used to add rich details and lighting to surfaces.  (June 4th)

Prototype

In Prototype, players take control of Alex Mercer – a dark, genetically mutated shape-shifter with no memory of his past, hell-bent on solving the mystery of his existence as he tears through a densely populated New York City moving with Parkour-style fluidity and consuming anything that gets in his way.

'Deceive or Destroy' gameplay allows gamers the choice to either blend in with the population and covertly progress through the story, or fully unleash Alex’s powers, and move through New York City like a walking slaughterhouse, taking control of military vehicles, and causing destruction at every turn.  (June 9th)

Whereas Edward suggests aggressive means to collect the precious resources, his brother William offers a peaceful solution, proposing to explore new and unsettled lands in the south of the kingdom. With his Father's blessing, William heads south to the mysterious Orient and returns with valuable new technologies such as the water pump that allows dry lands to be cultivated in order to produce enough food for the people. I'm going to change the PC format around and today I am starting the Wii releases and will do it in the same format.  Due to the large amount of releases each week on both PC and Wii, and since most of it is shovelware, I'm going to do the format a bit differently.  I will highlight one or two games and give them the full artwork and description.  The others I will just list under their respective release dates.  This saves everyone time.

New releases for the week of 8/9.

Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited

The defining pen-and-paper RPG becomes the ultimate massively-multiplayer online game as Turbine Entertainment and Atari bring the basement sensation into the light of computer screens all across the world. Players choose and develop a character based on some of the iconic races and classes associated with D&D - after which they can socialize, find quests, group together and equip themselves for future battles. The game also lets players travel alone or in parties as they explore the seemingly endless dungeon complexes found beneath the world. Through the dungeons, players will engage in physical and magical combat with hideous foes straight from the pages of the Monster Manual rulebook.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited relaunches the D&D Online experience as a free-to-play game available as a digital upgrade to existing subscribers as well as newcomers. Players have instant access to the D&DO shop anywhere within the game itself, which sells equipment, new adventures, added character content (including the brand new monk class), hirelings and a host of other things.  (Aug. 11th)

Windchaser (Aug. 13th)
