Chocolate Beauty Peppers
« on: September 03, 2012, 06:28:04 PM »
Planted these at the beginning of the season and they are JUST NOW starting to come on. Pretty excited about it because I didn't think that they were going to bloom. Does anyone have experience with them? Not sure if they have the same flavor as regular green bell peppers. If anyone has any knowledge or recipes that work well, let me know! I want to use them in the best way possible!

I have never seen them in my life.   I googled them and will post a picture.   They look incredible.  Anything the color of chocolate.  They almost look like they were dipped in chocolate.

I do know that green peppers need to be planted early, probably around the beginning of May.

I saw them when I was picking out my peppers for this year. Never seen them myself before that. The color had me entranced from the start. Due to the drought this year, not much came until recently. I also had some beefsteaks planted that just recently started exploding all over the place. Literally. Some of my plants are bent over from the weight. I had to put up stakes to make sure they weren't just laying on the ground. I will post a pic later when I get home from work.

These look really cool. I wonder what they taste like. I'm sure they probably taste like bell peppers do, but still they look intriguing. Let us know what they are like.
