I have always wanted to write a book.. I have a million ideas for stories and can see them all the way from cover to cover, even sequels.. I just dont have the knack for writing and was curious if any of you have actually published anything? Who knows we may have the next steven king here.. okay my ideas arent THAT great but they are things that I would like to read so why the hell not?

I never have.  I read a lot though :-)  There must be an online guide to help you through the process.  Good luck and let me know when you are published and famous so I can ask for your autograph!  or maybe I should get it now...hmm

Every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere

I haven't written, aside from being published in a couple local rags way back when, but I know writers (good friends).

The first bit of advice they give me?  Write...just write it down.  Get your idea on paper, even if you hate it.  Refine it, edit it, have someone else read it and edit it and provide feedback.

Once you have the draft or even a revision, then you start worrying about publishing.  Worst case scenario, you self publish with amazon ebooks (they have plenty of guides online on how to do it).

So...start writing!

I have a Fantasy novel that I have been writing (on & off) for about 10 years now.
Staying motivated with everything that is going on, has been the hardest part.
I get keen to write, something will come up. I'll put it down & forget about it for a while until the mood strikes me again.

I find I tend to write a lot of shorter stories now, about 1000 words.
I really need to pull my finger out, & force myself to get on with it.

Half of my problem is I have too many hobbies, each one distracts me from the others. Ha ha!
