Battle of Chickamauga - Boy Scout Trip
« on: April 28, 2013, 06:39:24 PM »
The boys and I just got back from our Battle of Chickamauga Civil War trip.   Boy did we have fun and actually learnt quit a bit about this battle that lasted several days. The boys all seemed to love it as well and I believe they all learn't some history about the battle on our 8 mile hike.

Learning aside.  This trip was rainy, muddy and rainy and muddy.  It rained the entire time we were there and our camp was a muddy mess.  The boys didn't gripe too much about it and took it all in stride.  Good food, good friends and Great Scouts! If you guys have boys, I highly suggest finding your local Boy Scout troop and get your boys signed up.   I am joining as well by becoming an adult leader.

Here are some pics.1st pic. -  Me and my boys on one of the many cannons found through out the battlefield.
2nd pic. - Our home camp.  Truly a total wet and muddy mess!!
3rd pic. - Shoe malfunction half way through our hike.  Thank God for Duct-Tape!!   It worked and we made it through our hike.
4th pic. - One of the many statues.  This one is from our Home Town Team.  Tennessee.

That's awesome!  Can't wait to go camping with the scouts this year.  We have one coming up in June.  My son is a cub scout so they don't camp as much as the boy scouts do.
Love the rain lol!  If it ain't damp it ain't camp!

Every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere

We love the rain as well but it trained the entire time and everything was flooded.  I think we were the only ones hiking.  :)
