My father in law
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:37:14 PM »
I could prolong this to the long version but I'll be brief.

I've been absent the last week and a half as we received a call on March 29 from the local hospital back in our home state that my wife's dad was admitted with a respiratory attack. We were the only ones they got in touch with in his contact list. Unfortunately, we're 2000+ miles away and they needed someone there immediately. So I knew it was bad. I got in touch with my brother in law and he rushed there to be with dad. He called me and said it's not good. As the day went on, they had to revive him once and he was so bad that they said if he left the hospital, he wasn't walking out. Well, around 6 pm over the phone with my wife's sister, had to make the decision to resuscitate him or DNR. Knowing what we did, both sisters made the decision to DNR. He passed away Friday night of walking pneumonia. We were on a plane and in New Jersey the following day. Having no will, it's been such a hectic week dealing with insurance policies he had, funeral arrangements, grieving, etc. I've gone through many losses but never one where we had to make all the decisions. I still can't believe he's gone. I miss him so much. Starting to tear up writing this. So please say prayers for our family as we try to get through the loss of my wife's dad, my father in law. I love you Kevin.....pap

Hey Pat I'm so sorry.  Prayers for you guys.  We had to deal with a similar situation with my inlaws.  If you need some advice or anything shoot me a message.

Thank you guys. I really appreciate it. Me and my brother in law are taking it real hard as the last year has brought a lot of grief with dad...we're really kicking ourselves for the way the past year went.
