Thanks guys. Made the appointment with the attorney. With any luck she'll be getting her letter the same time I go pick up my daughter next Friday. Hopefully I'll get to see the color drain from her face.

My one ray of hope in all of this is the following link. I only hope things could go even half this well.

$3000 just to retain the attorney's services. Not including court costs etc. The attorney asked why I had never fought before.

The same reason as now, I can't afford that. She basically said I don't have a leg to stand on then. It seems that the court won't care that I have never been able to afford to fight. It seems that in Alabama the lack of money is no excuse.

I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Of course this bitch of an attorney said I should represent myself, but at this point, what choice do I have?

If the consults are free, get a 2nd opinion.   Any divorced parents support groups in the area?  Consult with someone there and see if there's someone good that they can recommend.

:banghead:   Got any family with a vested interest in seeing you win that could help subsidize your battle?

I agree with the guys on here..    Get a second opinion..  And look for a divorced parents group and ask about the lawyers.

Now when I first went to get a lawyer, he asked me what was going on and I explained it all to him..   He told me that I had a great chance of winning and that he would accept my case...  Then I paid him the money..
