AAT Reset
« on: July 27, 2007, 11:25:53 PM »
Ok, so AAT has been running for some time now and there has been a rift growing in the rankings between the haves and the have less.    At this rate, that rift may never be closed.

The following has been suggested as a way to revitalize the game:
1) Reset the game and all players must create new profiles
2) Teams limited to no more than 3 players

I also think that maybe we should take a week or two break from the game before the reset.  We've all been really consumed with it lately and aside from probably being good for all our domestic lives, it probably will help the game feel a little fresher when we all jump back into the little Pioneers with ? shown for every sector.

Let me know your thoughts.

I'm OK with the resetting.  A week of getting to sleep a little earlier won't hurt.  Team limits to 3 is also a good idea.
I also think that maybe the top 3/4 guys should not be allowed on the same teams.  That way the wealth of knowledge on how to play can be passed on to the guys who didn't get going too much.  Would help I think.  Maybe based on the amount of players make them captains and pull names out of a hat to make teams

Yes to a reset, not sure about starting off though, maybe the week we arent playing we can have a thread to post info you know but no one else does, to spread the knowledge around

Yes to the reset part..

But, what about less turns per day..     Just one suggestion...    If you have suggestions, put them here.

I felt the number of turns was about right, it gave you enough time to make some money, visit planets, and tool around looking for trade ports

 :LMAO: Chef.

Sorry about the sector missile...   A little.  LOL

I'm for the reset.  I'm also for "Once you're dead, you're done for this round." thing.  keeps it competitive for most.  I bet chef goes first though.  LOL

I thought according to the forums for AAT it was designed that once you die your out for 3days and then you come back in

OK, so so far we are all for a reset.

I'm not so comfortable about starting a thread giving out every trick that we've developed, but I do think that the team members should be broken up a bit and lessons will be taught to the new teammates.

Now a question about teams.  Should we choose some teams in advance, or let them happen naturally and if some questionable match ups occur, then we can deal with it then?   Should we make sure that all of the VD guys wind up on separate teams so that the info gathered in game one get disseminated properly?  Should we choose teams of 2 and then let the 3rd members on each team join later?

Does anyone have any idea when they'd want the game to restart?

Sorry for the rambling.  A lot of thoughts popped into my head overnight.

I kind of posted the same thing.  Let everyone join up ..divide into teams with VD seperated maybe as "captains" depending on how many sign up.  Then any new members can be placed on teams.  Allow the week off for sign ups then launch everyone at the same time

Still not sure about the team thing, I think that everyone starting out the gate at the same time will make as big a difference as splittting everyone up

besides I like tooling around the galaxy with Randy

You know guys..   Everytime we reset, we can make up new rules..   For instance, this time 3 per team..  Next time no teams..   and the list can go on..
