Voice chat if we could?
« on: August 11, 2007, 04:18:28 PM »
Hey guys..  I was just thinking..    If it were possible, would any of you guys use a voice chat program if we had one here?

Also, I'm not too up to date on all of the voice chat stuff..   So, some of you more advanced users speak up here on this one..

When I say voice chat, I'm really talking about teamspeak, ventrillo or something like that..     What do you guys think?   Would it get used?

Speak up..

I can't now in this small apartment.  Most of my computer time now is when the kids are sleeping,so I try to be as quiet as possible.
But I would use it in a few months after we move out of here.

As far as mass chat programs go there are a couple of options.  Option 1.  Ventrillo (boo)  I don't like this one.  Haven't used it all that much but the interface isn't all that friendly.

Option 2: TeamSpeak.  Has an easy interface, keyless chat feature (voice activated) or push to talk function (which works well with kidlings screeching around LOL)  It's interface is free and you'd be able to make multiple rooms IE a room for each team for AAT or a room for online game play if anyone wants to interface while they play a game online IE WoW or Guild Wars.

I'd be all for it, I don't know the hosting functions but my Bro-in-law knows it.

Another vote for Teamspeak

IT IS FREE

Not to hard to set up, we used to use it in Combat Flight Simulator and Ghost Recon on the PC, its the best.

www.goteamspeak.com

Teamspeak is great.  you could run it off of the DP server so that the info to input on there would simply be daddyplace.com

I was looking at the rules, I'm not sure if we would be exempt from fees if we host through Daddyplace, you will have to contact them.

If we have to pay a fee it would be 14 bucks a month
