This from G4 TV's web site . . .

"Activision announced today that shooting-things-and-running-around simulator Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the number one title in units sold worldwide for 2007. The game sold more than seven million units."

well, that is great, but you figure this was easy to beat Halo 3 as Halo is 360 only and COD4 went 360, PS3, and PC.  I'm sure if Halo 3 went on all systems it would have topped COD4, but that's just cause of the hype machine, nothing against COD4, it is better than Halo 3 I'm sure we all agree, but just thought that should be clarified.

Its easy to beat Halo 3 when you put your game on bum disks and people are forced to buy a second or third to play it

I must say that I bought Halo 3 for the storyline as well as the gameplay and that multiplayer was fun of sorts but then COD4 came out and the storyline was lacking but then the multiplayer just blew me away. COD4 is by far the best multiplayer game I have ever played. Halo 3 got a bum rap with the bad discs, which just added insult to injury when paired with Microsofts bad publicity with the RROD issues really scared alot of potential would-be gamers.

Umm...Halo 3 sold more than 8.1 million.  Since when is 7 mil more than 8 mil?

I'm sure if there was a mistake though, Bungie and M$ would have came forward to say so.  It is quite an accomplishment for M$ to outsell a game that is 360 only than one that is multiplatform.  I'm sure there is some bad numbers somewhere.  Or, I would hope.

Today I received this email from CharlieOscarDelta.com . . .

" COD4:MW SOARS TO THE NUMBER ONE SPOT!!!

Hey Charlie Oscar Delta,

While we had always believed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare would turn out to be an awesome video game, we were pleasantly surprised to see it become as large of a smash hit as it is today.

We were overjoyed with the recent news that COD4:MW surpassed Halo 3 as the top played game on Xbox LIVE. (check out Major Nelson's coverage here)

Even more impressive, it was just announced that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the best selling video game title worldwide for the 2007 calendar year according to The NPD Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group! The fact that this game was released in November and only had two months to achieve the top position is phenomenal. (read all about it!)

We have only YOU to thank for this unprecedented success. Call of Duty would be nothing without the enthusiastic - yet discerning - fans found right here at Charlie Oscar Delta.

Thank you for all your love and support!!!"
