How to register Friends on the Wii
« on: February 15, 2008, 09:51:13 AM »
here's the webpage to get online w/ the wii.  You can even do wired w/ the Wii which I just found out about.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/online.jsp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Registering a Friend
Please note that in order to access the Address Book and register a friend, you must first connect your Wii console online. Please click here for information connecting online.

From the Wii Message Board main menu, select the Create Message icon.

Select "Address Book" icon from the available options.

Move your cursor over "Register" and press the A Button.

You will have the option to select a Wii address, or an email address for a PC or cell phone.

Important Notes about PC and cellphone email addresses:

To communicate with someone using a PC or cell phone, they must "reply" to an email that is sent from your Wii console once you enter their email address in your Address Book.
If you are entering a cell phone's email address, it must be the phone's full email address with a "@". For example, 5555555@phonecompany.com. If the owner of the cell phone is not sure if their phone has an email address, they will need to contact their cell phone service provider for more information.
You may want to inform the person you are adding to your Address Book that they will receive an email from your Wii console with an address that begins with a "w" and contains 16 digits. It will be from "@wii.com" (for example: w1234567891234567@wii.com).
You will not be able to send photos from your Wii console to the PC/cell phone user.
Use the virtual keyboard to enter the email address and nickname for the friend.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Editing or Deleting Wii Friends

Move the cursor over the Wii Friend nickname in the Address Book and press the A Button.

Select from Change Nickname or Erase.

Note, if you erase a Wii Friend entry, it will be permanently deleted from your Address Book.

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

View your Wii Number

Open the Address Book to page 1.

Move the cursor over the left scroll button and press the A Button to view your console's Wii number.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOW TO SET MII'S TO TRAVEL

Open up your Mii Channel.
You should see an icon on the right side of the screen w/ three mii's, it is for the parade.  Begin your parade.
Now you will see an icon on the right that let's you set your mii's to travel.  Turn this on.
You will now have to edit each individual mii that you want to have travel to other consoles and edit it.  On the screen that let's you select a mii's name, b-day, and favorite color and all, you will see the option to mingle, make sure this is on as well.  You are now set.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOW TO GET FRIEND'S MII'S INTO YOUR PLAZA

Visiting friends' Miis will gather in your Wii console's Mii Parade. You can then port those Miis over to your Mii Plaza, allowing you to use them in Mii-compatible games. In order for a friend's Mii to make it's way to your Mii Parade, the following requirements must be met:
The individual Mii's profile is set to "Mingle" (how to).
There are two ways for Miis to travel to other Wii consoles:
Store your Mii to a Wii Remote (how to) and bring it over to a friend's house and use it on their Wii console.
With WiiConnect24 enabled and your Wii Console connected to the internet, Miis will transfer to a friend's Wii console if you have both registered each other's Wii console in your own Address Book (how to).
Using the Mii Parade

To send a Mii from the Mii Parade to the Mii Plaza:

Select the Mii Parade icon to enter the Mii Parade.

Place the hand over the Mii you would like to transfer, and then press and hold the A Button and B Button to grab the desired Mii.

Drop the Mii on the "Send Mii to Mii Plaza" icon.

There's a third way for Mii's to travel, sending them to people's plazas by sending to a friend, but both have to have each other registered first.
Below is actually a sprite edit of Zero from the Megaman X series from Megaman X4 and beyond. The character I'm creating through the edit is called "Heat".
