New Summer Day Camp
« on: June 27, 2008, 07:55:27 PM »
Wow, the kids are out of school, and both of us parents are now working for the first time. What to do. We sent our kids to day camp. Oh my god, I have never seen my kids soooooo happy. They come home everyday, full of cheer. Before they go to bed, they get all of their stuff ready for the next morning. They wake up happy, and get dressed all without a problem. They are 5 and 7 years old. Wow, if only they could have this much enthusiasm for school. Yes it's expensive, but I think even if my wife stayed home for the summer, I would probably send them. I can't imagine the benefits they are getting from camp. Let me know on some of your camp thoughts and experiences that your kids have had. ANY DAY CAMPS FOR DADS?

I have never sent my kids to camp..  I don't even think there is one around here..   But I bet my kids would have fun if they did..

Levi goes to one at the local Y, and loves it! $55 a week, plus we pack a lunch for him every day. He's around kids his age all day, gets to play all day, and swim on Friday's if he's been good all week. The only thing he don't like about it is having to jump down out of the truck in the morning. LOL

People who think they know it all really annoy those of us that do.

I sent my girl to a day camp they do with a couple program here in town.  She enjoys it, though not quite as enthusiastic as it sounds like your boys get.

You're right about the expense, though.  Summer care alone was over $600 and adding the camp to the program added another couple hundred.

No doubt the experience is good for them, but I'll admit I'm glad my kid is encroaching on the age I can leave her at home alone.
