Goldeneye Source
« on: October 06, 2008, 03:14:03 PM »
I just got CounterStrike: Source this weekend and a whole slew of mods.  One of my favorites has been Goldeneye Source.  What they have done is taken all of the single player and multiplayer maps and put them into updated Goldeneye multiplayer.  The technical aspects of the mod still need a little work, but if you want to kill some time in a quick nostalgic deathmatch you should hop on GE:S.  Some of the levels are beautifully recreated on the Source engine.

You can find the mod here: http://goldeneyesource.com/

*NOTE: You have to have a Source based game to play it.  You can find a list of source games here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_engine#Licensed_Source_games

Some are very cheap on Steam right now.

If I remember right you have to download 1.0 and then download 1.1.

sweet - I've got CS Source and Day of Defeat (I really like that one - love to play it with some dads sometime)

maybe we should start posting Steam ID's too?

takes a while to get your eye in,maps are very stirpped basic versions but faithful to the original, use shift for aiming, ctrl for crouching and expect to die a lot very quickly, not too many servers there yet either, apart from that a welcome distraction from the 360.
